Study Abroad and Expand Your Perspective

Take part in an engaging educational experience that encourages your personal, social, and intellectual growth. The Study Abroad and Study Away programs at 麻豆社 provide opportunities for you to fulfill your general education requirements or enhance the coursework in your major while exploring the world and gaining a greater understanding, appreciation, and respect for our dynamic global community.

Travel-based courses are currently offered during the Winterim term in January, in the Spring semester over Spring Break, and in the Summer.

Lyon, France (INBUS 355/MGT 355/MKT 355)

Spring: March 14 – 21, 2025

Are you interested in learning how businesses manage and market their products and brands differently based on the country of origin? Then join us in Lyon, France and get the chance to observe business decision-making from a European perspective! Experience international management and international marketing first-hand by touring companies like Sodexo, furniture manufacturer Ligne Roset, and the Olympique Lyonnais Groupe’s professional football stadium. Finally, experience all Lyonnaise culture has to offer with a culinary street food tour, a visit to the Musee De L鈥橧llusion, and a trip to the famed Beaujolais vineyards.

South Korea (HIST 211)

Summer: June 16 – 26, 2025

Mega K-pop groups like BTS and BlackPink and the popularity of Korean food, webtoons, K-dramas, and Korean cinema represent just a fraction of the global phenomena known as the 鈥淜orean Wave鈥 (鈥淗allyu鈥). Hallyu is a recent expression of the long, rich history and culture of Korea. Students will learn about Korean culture, history, and pop-culture, as well as the basics of the Korean language as they prepare for a full immersion experience in Korea in summer 2025! We鈥檒l visit Seoul, Busan, and Gyeongju to tour museums, enjoy the bustling night life, visit historic temples and palaces, and, of course, taste delicious Korean food!

Choosing a study abroad or study away program can seem complex, but we are here to help.

FAQ

Health and Safety

Your safety and well-being is of primary importance when particpating in a study abroad program. While we cannot guarantee your safety – at home or overseas – we take specific precautions to help minimize the risks associated with travel: careful vetting of program providers and international partners; pre-departure and on-site orientations with a docus on health and safety; monitoring security reports from the State Department, CDC, World Health Organization, and others; and comprehensive international medical and evacuation insurance for all SU students abroad.

Eligibiliy

Any 麻豆社 student can apply to study abroad as long as you meet stated requirements for your program. You may not be on academic or disciplinary probation and must be at least 18 years old by the departure date of your program.
